My New Band!

Left of Heaven News 6/10/09

I have started work on new LOH material and will likely be relying heavily on my good friends in MojoSonic to perform parts I can't perform well enough, myself.  The new stuff is just starting to develop so it's hard to say if it sounds like old LOH and if so, from what era.  Given that MojoSonic plays a lot of stuff by Alice in Chains, that influence will be there, as will the Led Zep, Floyd, Beatles classic stuff. I'm not trying to be different, but whatever comes out is what comes out- it is what it is.  Stuff like older U2, Opeth and Gov't Mule will have their influence, too. It's all good.... at least I hope it is....

MojoSonic update 6/10/09

We've been gigging out quite a bit.  Things are going well, as we're developing a following, building a repertoire and reviews have been very positive with lots of familiar faces from one gig to the next. Feel free to check us out! Click it!!! Mojosonic. We have a couple more gigs to go, then we'll be wood shedding for July- and back in August to get ready for the fall. It's been great being with this band- everyone works together and as a result, shit gets done. While MojoSonic is it's own thing, separate from Left of Heaven, MojoSonic has really allowed me to get back into the act of making music again. It's back to a passion whereas in the Fink Ployed tribute it was a chore. Things happen for a reason and I'm glad things went the way they did- but maybe just 10 years too late for David Geffen to take notice! Forget the labels now- it's all about the music!!

MojoSonic update 2/9/09

I am in a new live band called Mojosonic. We are in the process of lining up some gigs for Winter and Spring 2009. I'm very excited to get back out and start gigging again. The band has jelled very well and it's refreshing and exciting to be in a band that does not contain serious inner politics, lying and ass kissing. It's great to be in a band where the music is taken seriously, but the members don't take themselves too seriously. I'm extremely happy to be apart of this band, and for the first time in over 6 years I'm loving music again .

Left of Heaven News 1/1/09

Other than what's been happening with MojoSonic (which has been my #1 musical priority as of late) I am planning on getting to some new Left of Heaven music as well. I've had some cool original ideas come up and I'd love to turn them into real songs.  Of course it wouldn't be much of a surprise if the guys in MojoSonic helped me out, but LOH is LOH and MojoSonic is it's own thing, too. I'm hoping to get some stuff written and recorded by Spring time. The more I get snowed in, the more time I'll have to work on new music.

Live Left of Heaven: R.I.P.

The live gigs in 2006 were a great time. I look back on those gigs with a big smile. Maybe one day Left of Heaven will perform live again. In the meantime, I wish Brian the best in both his musical and non musical endeavors. Hopefully the time will present itself so that we may jam again. Ben's probably off writing some great tunes and I wish him the best just of luck in whatever area he chooses.
